• Exams cheaters, abettors caught red-handed – As a result of a detailed report on cheating during matric exams published by The News last week, the Board of Secondary Education (BSEK) raided an exam centre where both students and teachers were caught red-handed.
• CAP cancels Shanaakht festival – Following vandalism by the PPP workers (because of an ‘objectionable’ art work on display) on the opening day of the festival, the Citizens Archive of Pakistan cancels Shanaakht citing lack of government assurance for provision of safety as a cause.
• Blaze guts paint, loom factory – a paint factory, warehouse and loom factory in SITE are razed after a crate in the paint factory that caught fire earlier on.
• CDGK retrieves 150 acres from land mafia – in a five-hour long operation, the CDGK managed to get 150 acres of land in Ahsanabad evacuated that had been encroached upon by various ethnic groups.
• Reactivation of Public Safety Commission on the anvil – The Sindh government considers restarting the Safety Commission to look into the complaints against the police in Sindh.
• 18 CDGK schools functioning without proper buildings – Schools in Gadap Town, Bin Qasim Town and Keamari Town functioning without shelter and other facilities.
