Karachi Jan 28: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed EDO Master Plan to complete the survey of residential and commercial units for GIS map within a week. He also instructed for more acceleration in the work by forming a 2 member team for survey in every union council.
Earlier during a review meeting held in Civic Center on Thursday it was informed that the survey of residential and commercial units in 14 union councils has already been done while work in rest of the city was currently underway.
On this occasion City Nazim said that the GIS map will be given legal status after its approval from the city council. He said that the union councils will be authorized to approve or disapprove any trade within their jurisdiction. A representative officer from Master Plan Department will be deputed in all 178 union councils of Karachi who will work under the union nazim. The union council would submit report to master plan department on daily basis.
Nazim Karachi also directed that all utility service providers be informed to provide the record and details of their service to master plan department as soon as possible so that this could be incorporated in the GIS map.
